Need help identifying an Electra hollow body

I just bought my son this Electra Hollow Body from an Estate sale. The only information I got was that the owner was in a country band in the 70's. Can I get help identifying what I have on my hands? The research I have found it may be a 1972 2228 from SLM. There is a serial number on back plate, but I am finding nothing on the internet to help me identify for sure.

Congrats on your purchase! The Electra Hollow Body guitars from the 70s are quite interesting. You might want to check the Electra Guitar Forums or contact vintage guitar experts who specialize in Electra guitars for more specific details.

Congratulations on your find. The Electra Hollow Body guitars are known for their quality and unique sound. If it’s a 1972 2228 from SLM, you’ve got a great piece. The serial number should help narrow it down, but sometimes information on older models can be scarce.
